I've been getting a lot of practical advice from Liana Kerzner https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liana_Kerzner and Dr. Ellen Hendriksen https://www.ellenhendriksen.com/about the processes are no longer opaque or esoteric and thus much of the fear associated with them is gone because I know exactly what I'm doing, what effect it's having, why it's having that effect, how to control these processes in finer detail etc etc.
